South Seas Captiva is a great place for a relaxed island getaway. The rooms are comfortable and well maintained, and the staff throughout the resort are friendly and welcoming. The setting is beautiful, with a laid-back island vibe and truly fantastic sunsets that are a highlight of the stay. That said, compared to previous visits, some of the genuine island charm feels like it has been partly lost, likely due to updates and changes over time. It doesn’t take away from the overall quality of the resort, but it’s noticeable if you’ve been here before. Check-in took longer than expected due to difficulties locating our booking, which was a bit frustrating. Once resolved, however, the rest of the stay was smooth and enjoyable. Overall, still a very nice experience and a place we’d consider returning to.

Shout out to Raheem for his amazing Bingo commentary. He made it so fun!!! Jennifer, Diane, and Curly were awesome bartenders at the pool! They kept me loose, relaxed, and sane. : ) Kate and Ernie were awesome trolley drivers. Learned so much about the island from them.

The Kimpton s elopement! 10-10-25.We wanted to express our gratitude for such a wonderful experience during our stay. From the friendly and attentive employees to the beautiful atmosphere, everything exceeded our expectations. The food and restaurant were amazing, the pool area was relaxing, and we truly enjoyed the fishing and bike riding around the resort. Our room was absolutely beautiful, and our wedding ceremony on the beach was everything we dreamed of and more. It was a perfect day from start to finish. We can’t wait to return for a special occasion or anniversary. Thank you for the incredible hospitality and unforgettable memories!

We had such a fantastic trip this past week at South Seas Island Resort — it truly exceeded our expectations. Captiva Landing was amazing, and there was never a dull moment. Our family loved spending time golfing, fishing, riding around in the golf cart, and even setting a fun challenge to visit every pool in one day! It felt like the perfect balance of activity and relaxation, with something for everyone to enjoy. The beach access is incredibly convenient and quickly became one of our favorite parts of the trip. We found tons of beautiful shells and made so many special memories walking the shoreline together. Being able to easily go back and forth between the villa, pools, and beach made everything feel effortless and stress-free. We also loved cooking a few meals at the grills behind our beach villa — having that option gave us flexibility and added to the laid-back, family-friendly feel of the resort. Our villa was spotless and thoughtfully appointed with everything we needed. The decor was minimalistic with beautiful beach-inspired touches that created a calm, airy atmosphere — exactly the relaxing vibe we were hoping for. Fernando P is the reason this trip even came together for us, and we are so grateful. His professionalism, responsiveness, and genuine care made all the difference. On top of that, every staff member we interacted with throughout our stay was approachable, welcoming, and sincerely friendly. We can't wait to return, South Seas!

Fantastic staff great room, amazing views. Jeff and Anthony are great gentleman and super friendly and helpful. We were flying in late and They made sure that they communicate communicated with each other when we were getting there and to make sure we got a special treatment when we arrived. We certainly appreciated that, we told anyone who would listen. The Beach House restaurant was fantastic. We had lunch a little pricey, but you get what you pay for and it was fantastic experience, the wait staff members Joe and the manager. Alecia were amazing. A very good experience with everyone.

Had a great trip to Captiva, staying at the South Seas Resort. The pool areas were nice, especially the Captiva Landing area. There were two areas on the beach where free chairs and umbrellas were provided. The beach was gorgeous and not crowded. We loved all the food we had on and off the resort. The prices are inflated for food, but representative of a vacation town, so it was to be expected. It was great having a starbucks on site for morning coffee walks! There is a lot of walking here because the resort spans well over a mile long. There are golf carts and bikes available to rent, a free trolley too, but we had our own car and enjoyed walking around. It's pretty quiet and relaxed. The island is a mix of guests and owners, so it's important to mind your manners as this is also people's homes sprinkled in and around island. There is some construction going on here and there where they are building new features or updating, or finishing up repairs from the last major hurricane. None of it was bothersome at all and noise was minimal during our stay. There are some surrounding shops and restaurants on and off the island, and like I said, all our meals were really good portions and tasted great! The front desk staff was very friendly and there is a texting line for questions which they responded to promptly. We stayed in the bayside condo. They were older buildings, but a nice job was done to update most of the facades, landscaping, and interiors. We had everything we needed for the 5 day stay and didn't need to call for anything additional. Housekeeping is by request here. Our condo was a one bedroom, second floor and was very clean. The common areas and walkways were also impeccably clean, there is a ton of staff throughout maintinating everything. I have no complaints about our stay. If I had to have something that could use improvement, it would be the tap water in our condo, which had a treated taste to it, no smell, just didn't want drink it, so we did end up buying a case of bottled water at an island grocery store. I think that the south seas provisions should lower the cost of water to accommodate those who don't wish to leave the resort for better drinking water. We didn't experience weird the taste anywhere else. Also our tvs were dated, so we couldn't log into streaming services at night, just watching digital cable. All in all I am very happy with our experience and would recommend South Seas Resort!

Great overall experience. Rooms are a little dated. Very big resort. Little overwhelming. Don't like the almost 1000.00 dollar security deposit. Never had that any place i stayed at using Airbnb. Didn't like the armband payment thing either. I like to pay up front for things. They do not except cash or card on premises. Probably will not come back. But that's me. Someone else might like that cruise ship treatment. I personally don't.

South Seas has clean and fun new amenities as of 2026. It is a beautiful location and very family friendly. We didn't realize the rooms are all privately owned and managed by South Seas, so there can be variation among rooms - for example, our room did not have access to sign into Netflix or other apps on the TV. Since this is managed by the owner, there was nothing South Seas could do about it. We also experienced the elevator being out of service for most of our stay, which was an inconvenience as traveling with a toddler, accessibility was important. The pools were clean and beautiful. We wish there were more "budget" food options available on the resort (Flippers was one, but it closes at 6pm unfortunately). The resort fee was recently upped from $25/adult/day to $40/adult/day which we were not made aware of until seeing the itemization upon checkout. We had a lovely experience, but think there are some kinks that could still be worked out as the resort re-opens in 2026.
